Cottonwood Baptist Church is a vital community of Christian faith in Cottonwood, Texas (8 miles NW of Cross Plains). It was founded in 1881.

Thomas Estes has been the pastor of Cottonwood Baptist Church in Cross Plains, Texas, since 2013. He earned an Associate Degree in commercial music with an emphasis in guitar performance from South Plains College in Levelland, a Bachelor of Arts degree in religion from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview and a Master of Divinity degree from Logsdon Seminary after also studying at Truett Seminary. He currently teaches at Cross Plains High School.
